The Cape, Day 2

This is our rental house for the week. It's perfect inside. Just enough space for everyone. All the amenities that we all wanted. (Internet, washer & dryer, a/c... ) It's really cute and beachy, and has been recently renovated. The only downfall has been the beach situation. The last couple of times we've rented a place, it's been right on a private beach. This is across the street from a public beach. We love the house, but we probably won't rent it again next time. We were pretty spoiled with the private beach right outside our front door... we miss that!

Eric and I went for a great walk this morning. Down to the Sandwich Boardwalk. It's such a neat area. Sand dunes and marshes and a nice public beach...

We can see the Cape Cod Canal from our kitchen window, which is pretty neat. We saw a giant tanker going through the canal this morning, with the help of a very cute tug boat.

We also spent a few hours at the beach in the afternoon. Eric took a photo of himself, of course.

This is Alex's lonely boogie board... it (and Alex) were wishing the water didn't feel like the Arctic. It didn't get much use today. I could barely put my feet in the water, it was seriously cold.

Here are the kids hanging out on the beach. They did eventually try out their boogie boards in the frigid water... My fun beachy romance novel is sitting on the cooler. ("Castaways" by Elin Hilderbrand...)

And what's better than cleaning off sand from the beach in an outdoor shower??
Oh and later in the evening, after we went out for ice cream, Eric and I took another walk (to work off the ice cream)... I decided I want to live in this house. Isn't it adorable??
