The Cape, Day 4

And the weather just keeps getting better and better! We decided to hit the beach again today. I really can't believe how lucky we have been in the weather department. It truly has been an amazing week, especially after the entire month of June (and first week of July) was a total wash-out here.

This was my view for awhile this afternoon... peeking out over my book to watch Alex building sand castles...

I also watched a few ships go through the canal... there is a Coast Guard station on the Canal. I imagine this ship was heading there.

Eric's friend Vic (friends from High School) came to visit us. He brought his son Ben with him. The above photo includes Alex taking a snack break, Kelsey texting on her phone, and Eric & Vic chatting away... The beach we went to today was much better than the busy public beach we went to on Sunday. This one was free and it was semi-private. We found a secret entrance while we were out on our morning walk/jog...

Ben caught a bucket full of baby crabs. He found them hiding under rocks.

Ben and Alex built a sand castle... and I think they were having the baby crabs live in the moat.

After a day at the beach, we went out for ice cream at our favorite ice cream place. Isn't that a cute name for an ice cream shop!?

Kelsey got a gigantic ice cream in a waffle cone. The flavor was "Celtic Pride"... it was kind of like a mint chocolate chip... I think Eric was impressed. (He also got a waffle cone, except with Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream instead...)
